    Hi,

    you need the gtkdev package!
    check your system by using rpm:

    rpm -qa | grep gtk
    the result should be something like
    gtk-1.2.7-13
    gtkdev-1.2.7-13

    The last one "gtkdev" is essential. After installing this your
    configure script should say
    checking for gtk-version >=0.99.13 .... yes
