    I remember one year ago a huge discussion on TWAIN and SANE cooperation
    took place in the list. But, I don't know if it came to a constructive
    conclusion. If I remember well:

    talking about TWAIN, it was said that a layer between the TWAIN
    application and SANE should be built, to assure communication between the
    GUI (which is a concept bound to TWAIN) and SANE (which is
    GUI-independent), having always SANE as a pivot.

    Now, this is the only thing I remember: I should take a look in my mailbox
    at home...
