Time to release a new CVS snapshot of the unstable development version
of SANE. I planned this snapshot to mark the code freeze before we
release SANE 1.0.2, but will postpone the code freeze to next Sunday.
The mailing list has been offline for one week, and I do not feel
comfortable doing code freeze after one week of silence.
Next Sunday we enter code freeze, followed by 14 days to get the
documentation up to date and fix the really grave bugs that can't wait
until next release. Send all patches and suggestions to the mailing
list and the maintainers.
If no one protests, I plan to include a .desc file for the backends
that did not make it into the current release, into the distribution.
That way, they will at least show up on the backend web page. I plan
to do this after code freeze.
Please test this version on Unixware and HP/UX. I hope it will
compile out of the box now, but need someone to test it.
If you already have an old snapshot, you can update it to the latest
CVS content like this: run 'cvs login', type 'anoncvs' as the
password, and then run 'cvs update' to fetch the latest files.

Removed mono_adjust function which handled bit offset in 1bpp modes,
this is now handled by forcing all scans to be wide enough to fill a
full byte. Reinserted code to set brightness on A6000C model as this
appears to be the only model that accepts that setting. Bug-fixes
for ADF & Transparency option settings.
