Hello all of you,

First, thank you for giving us SANE.

It seems, and a thread in the list confirmed me, that the Snapscan
backend doesn't work any more on recent kernels.

I understand it has to do with changes to the sg driver, but I cannot
pinpoint which ones, and releases of cdrecord, which makes heavy
use of the sg driver, seems not affected.

What is the issue ? Is someone working on it ? Could I help ?
Where should I start ?

All I get is a Snapscan 600 connected to a AHA2040, a system
with a 2.2.10 kernel, lot of spare disk space and little time...but
I like things working :-)
