Microtek question

Since I'd gotten a couple of requests for a newer OS/2 port, I oompiled
the latest (0.70) SANE. It works fine under Linux with my Microtek E3
scanner, but no longer works under OS/2.

Stepping through the Microtek code with gdb, I found that "start_scan()"
returns OK. But the "ready" light on the scanner goes out at that
point, and the following call, to "wait_ready()", then fails. The same
"start scan" commands ("0x1b, 0, 0, 0, 0x41" for grayscale) are being
passed in both operating systems, so I'm at a loss as to what's going
on.

Any suggestions as to why the "ready" light would stay off, and where I
might look next?

Thanks!
