    You need a newer version of SANE. I was still working on the USB support
    when 1.0.2 came out. You should either get the 1.0.3 version or the
    latest pre-1.0.4 snapshot.

    When you install the new SANE version make sure that you remove the
    SuSE version first (as root with "rpm -e sane")
