sane on SPARC SOLARIS 8

    Hi all,
    i have sane installed on
    SunOS 5.8 Generic_108528-01 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-1System
    find-scanner: found scanner "UMAX PL-II V1.6" at device /dev/scg0d works

    scanimage -d umax:/dev/scg0d give me
    Segmentation fault
    but the scanner works for a short time
    and truss give this

    the same with xscanimage when i press the scan button
