    Hi ,

I have downloaded sane 1.0.3 (that includes the SANE interface sanei_pa4s2
and the backend sane-mustek_pp) and xsane 0.60 .

I have done in the sane 103 directory : ./configure
                                                                 make
                                                                 make install

everything is OK , sane is compiled and installed.

When i look in the makein , dll.conf .... files the options for sanei_pa4s2
    and mustek_p are ok
      (i have deleted the # before mustek_pp and replaced lp1 by lp0 )

but my scanner (lifetec (aldi) LT9891on parallel port isn't dedected).

When i type scanimage -L , it shows nothing.
When i type scanimage , it shows no device found.

Xsane refuses to be compile , make gives an error 1 "file sane preference.h
    not found".

What should i do now ?

Is there something to configure, a module .so to load ?
     I am a beginner with Linux ?

I have read some doc but i don't find what to do , there is a find-scanner
tool but it seems to be for the scusi scanners...

     Thank you.
