SMP support Am I missing something?

    Hello again,

I just had another revelation with my PR440FX old Dual Pentium Pro
motherboard and SANE. The other night I interrogated SANE to return
    with
the version and my machine came back with some numeric codes at CPU#1
    and
locked up. I believe the SMP code for this mobo is a bit unrefined at
    this
time. I've noticed some reports in Deja concerning the scsi situation
    and
the fact that there were problems with kernels after 2.3.19. I was able
    to
get 2.3.99-pre1 to work (with Linux not SANE) although I absolutely hate
the use of the PNP drivers for the on-board Crystal sound. I use to be
able to build it in a monolithic fashion.

I'm going to go back and recompile a single cpu kernel and reload
SANE and XSANE and see what happens. I'm pretty happy with the
H-P 6300C scanner (using scsi) but I want to get it out of Winblows.

                                    Best regards,
                                    Kurt Savegnago
