Francois,
If you think it is the sg driver, then this is easy to test.
The original sg driver (2.2.0 -> 2.2.5) can be substituted
for the new one, then rebuild. There is a link to the
original driver on:
http://www.torque.net/sg
This should be a file called sg22orig.tgz which contains:
include/scsi/sg.h
drivers/scsi/sg.c

Perhaps you could move the current files before you unzip
this tarball.

I would be interested in the result. [The aic7xxx driver
has also been changing of late.]
