Well I did a Deja News search for any info I could find about my Acer
620S scanner. In the comp.periphs.scanners newsgroup I found several
mentions about SANE developement but I also found the following:

http://www.dejanews.com/[ST_rn=ps]/getdoc.xp?AN=453921157

Which was from the developer of a tool called vuescan named Ed Hamrick.
He had made his SCSI snooping tool available for people to use with there
film scanners. He would then have the traces emailed to him for support
of his product on their scanner. I downloaded it and simply used it to
interogate my scanner for MY purposes :^)

I don't see the tool available on his Web page anymore but perhaps he
will give it to you if you ask.
