If you scan a slide at 2400 dpi you will get an image of
about 2100x3300 pixels. On A3 format (297x420 mm)
each Pixel would represent 0.14mm, that is 7 pixels per mm.
And to print the image, the colour of the pixel must be
dithered down. So 2400 dpi should be enough.
To me the quality of the PhotoSmart scanner is quite good.
Maybe the images could be a little bit more sharp.
