Sane developert,

I just wanted to say thanks for a great tool. I spend last week scanning
hundreds and hundreds of old photos and documents. Sane was very simple
and very efficient. I greatly enjoyed using it. (Linux 2.0.35, Umax
1200s, Sane 1.0)

I came up with a couple ideas for future versions and thought I would pass
them along. The first two seem possibly simple to implement.

1) I would like to either always have the preview image scanned in color
or at least have that option. Sometimes I would get going so fast
that I couldn't remember if the document had any color in it. In
these cases I would have to take it out, look, and then rescan the
preview image.

2) It would be nice to set a limit on how much of the flatbed was
scanned for the preview image. Most of my scans were pictures and
would take up less than one third of the 17" length. My total
time could have been shortened by this feature.

3) I found it would have been nice to zoom the preview image for tighter
control of the selection. That would be a nice addition.

Anyway, thanks for the great software.

Bill
