Are you sure your '1505 isn't broken? Try installing it with Linux, you should
get a message after "modprobe aha152x" or something like that. Check the
SCSI-HOWTO for exact settings.
Anyway, I threw away mine because during scanning, Linux grinds to a halt. Even
the card supplied with my scanner is faster, though anyone says I should throw
*that* one away (a cheap NCR53c400 w/o IRQ).

That is strange. With the card supplied to the scanner, it should work with
Windows. What kind of hardware is that card? Maybe it is supported hardware
with Linux, so you can try and get that scanner to work with either card and
either OS.

Mastering SCSI devices is an art of its own :-)
