Hi,

I picked up an Acer Prism SCSI scanner for a good price, and it works well using the Win3.1 software. I've
got an Adapter 2840 SCSI adapter, and the find-scanner program does find something !! However, its
interesting as the v.74 find-scanner behaves somewhat different from the v.72 version.

When I use the v.72 version I get :

find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t4l0

when I use the v.74 version I get:

find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t0l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t1l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t2l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t3l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t4l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t5l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t6l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b0t7l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b1t0l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b1t1l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b1t2l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b1t3l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b1t4l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b1t5l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b1t6l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b1t7l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b2t0l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b2t1l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b2t2l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b2t3l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b2t4l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b2t5l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b2t6l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b2t7l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b3t0l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b3t1l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b3t2l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b3t3l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b3t4l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b3t5l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b3t6l0
find-scanner: found scanner "Color FlatbedScanner_4 0181" at device b3t7l0

As you can see, here's part of my problem. The other part is that scanimage.exe tends to cause a SYS error
when I try to run it with the -L command. However, it does create a file, prefixes with 'ASA' and a number like
'00090', that contains this:

Vendor: Color Model: FlatbedScanner_4 Rev: 0181 scsi 0 Channel: 0 Id: 4 Lun: 0

So the system is definitely seeing something ... however, I can't scan as the device isn't recognized by any of
the 'back ends'. Any assistance or advice would be appreciated !!

Why do I use OS/2 ??
Because I like choice !!
