Linux 2.0.35 and Scanner == SCSI driver seg fault

This ain't exactly SANE, but seeing as this list probably knows more about
scanners than most any other...

I was using a UDB DEC Alpha with my Microtek E3 scanner and SANE. It worked
quite well. I switched over to an x86 box and now whenever my SCSI bus scans
and finds a scanner it seg faults. I've repeated this exact behavior with my
Mylex BT-958 and AHA-1502 cards. Anyone know if this is a known problem with
2.0.35 Linux kernel?
