I believe this topic has come up a while ago (you may want to check
the mailing list archive at http://www.mostang.com/sane/), but I don't
think we came up with a clear set of requirements. But I certainly
agree that xscanimage is not the best tool. A frontend for digital
cameras would definitely make a nice addition.
