Nikon LS 1000

I am archaeologist and I use the Nikon-LS-1000-film-scanner under Windows 95
for scanning a big lot of scientific b&w nedgatives. Under Linux I developed
something like a hypertext tool which integrates these pictures. I would be
very happy to be able to use also the scanner under Linux and to avoid W'95
completely. Is there anything in preparation for the LS 1000 ?
