    Hello:
I have got my new System up and running I have a ASUS A7V mobo installed with
default settings. I am running SuSE 7.2. My problem is that the HP scanjet
4200C is just not seen by xsane. I have worked with SuSE tech support and
others but still have no joy. I have sane 1.0.4 and xsane 0.74. Everything
is properly configured as far as I can see. I have modified the hp backend
has been modified to read /dev/usb/scanner0
                                              option connect-device.
But no joy I have followed the SuSE manual etc. The SuSE tech has stated that
the scanner is logged in by the system and is seen in /proc/bus/usb/devices
as Vendor=03f0 and ProdID=0105. But xsane and sane does not see any scanner.
My device and driver file follows:

    itty:~ # cat /proc/bus/usb/devices

My two nick cards share the IRQ 9 with the USB hubs but that does not seem to
matter as I could not get xsane to see scanner with them moved and no sharing
of IRQ 9. I have not applied the patch at hp 4200 backend as it is not
compliled against the 1.0.4 sane stuff. I also have been lead to believe it
was not needed. Any help greatful accepted, as I have hit bottom on this and
    exhausted my knowledge well.

    Thanks in advance.
