    Hi,

I have done some experiments to get my Microtek ScanMaker X12USL working
with the Microtek2 Backend shipped with sane-1.0.4 by adding the model
code 0xb0 to the check_inquiry function.
Now the backend recognises the scanner on the scsi bus, it does scan
images, it does even recognise the light-lid. However, I am not satisfied
with the image quality. There is always a stripe of different colours
running from top to bottom of a white page. I suspect this is a problem of
calibration, but I am not an expert in this. Perhaps there is somebody who
can give me a hint on how to tackle this problem (I have seen that some
people are working on the microtek2 backend, do you have any suggestions
what I should try to do?)

    Yours,
    Volkmar
