    It gets time to prepare sane-1.0.5.
    I suggest the following timeplan for sane-1.0.5:

    now: Status: apply patches
    (8 weeks) some snapshots: sane-snapshot-2001-xx-xx

    4th june: ** feature freeze **
    (3 weeks) snapshot: sane-1.0.5-pre-beta1
                  Status: apply bugfixes, test pre-beta1

    ... may be some additional pre-beta#-snapshots

    24/25.th june:** code freeze **
                  sanpshot: sane-1.0.5-pre1
                  Status; apply very important bugfixes, test pre1

    if no hard bugs occur:
    1st july: ** relase of sane-1.0.5 **
