('binary' encoding is not supported, stored as-is) Hello,
I have been trying to set up my scanner to work in Linux with Sane. It is a ScanJet 5P using the the original SCSI card that came with the scanner under Redhat 7.0. I got the computer to recongize the card and when I run find-scanner, it shows a HP Scanner connected to /dev/scanner, /dev/sga and /dev/sg0. The problem is that when I run xscanimage, everything would run really slow and the cpu load goes up really high. Below are some outputs when I turned on the debugging funcion as stated in the FAQ. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

    root@localhost frontend]# scanimage -L > out
