    Hi Paul!

    If your scanner says a4s2 all over and it's connected to your parallel
    port, it should be just another version of mustek's a4s2-chipset. to
    make your scanner work with sane you'll "just" have to disassemble the
    windows-vxd, and rewrite it as a sane-backend. Perhaps Donnchadh can
    help you with his experiences concerning this chip and you can compare
    the disassembling with the sane-backend from jeff - your chipset
    shouldn't differ to much from the other models...
