Given my druthers, I would rather write a SANE driver for my device
that works on *all* platforms, then write TWAIN drivers on top of that
that adds the pretty little controls and interfaces with the nifty
apps. This would allow me to write my batch-mode app using SANE only,
and use the TWAIN part of the driver for cases where I need the GUI.
