That's excellent, wild-west-type stuff.

I'm still willing to make a phone call or two, or send multiple
polite-but-relentless e-mails to someone at Nikon. Suggestions about whom,
anyone?

I will continue to post on the Nikon Image Processing Support Forum.

Are you free to make the documentation for the LS-20 available?

It might be useful to Andreas Rick, if only as an outdated road map.
