The best thing would be for you to get the Nikon LS30 and write the
driver for it! But right now, the only filmscanners I know of that work
under SANE are the Nikon Coolscan II series, the Canon 2700F and the
HP Photosmart. I have the Photosmart and I like it a lot.
Under SANE, it's probably the one that gives the best results for
slides right now.
