Not a clue. As I mentioned, it just worked. :-)

Yeah, it should definitely be checked with StarDivision. Upon
reading your posting, I realised that I simply assumed that
StarOffice was using SANE that I installed rather than anything
they had built-in. The interface looks nothing at all like
either xscanimage or xsane.
Unfortunately, StarOffice chooses to crash today when I try it
again. :-(
