does the trick! my previews are now a much more
normal colour.
Blue is blue, not red, and things otherwise are much
less green. Thanks Bernd! from now on I think I can
colour-correct using the xscanimage options. "Normalize"
in gimp does wonders for my scanned photos, btw.
btw
the xscanimage window gets very tall when you turn more
and more options on :-) It doesn't quite fit on my screen
at present...
