loop at 99% CPU on 2nd acquisition??? - .74 & 1.00

Strange. scanimage works every time. xscanimage (gimp or standalone) gets
the first scan (or acquire image) without error. 2nd scan (or acquire
image) always loops forever at 99% CPU till killed.

Color QuickCam on ECP port (0x378/irq7/dma3), linux 2.0.36-1, gtk+-1.0.6-3,
libjpeg-6b-7, .74 and 1.00 RPM kits were tried. Build from source tomorrow.
