Hallo,

I am looking for people using a Primax Colorado scanner, and whish to use it
with Linux. I've asked Primax (www: http://www.primax.nl eMail:
support@primax.nl) several times for information about the protocol used by the
scanner. They always told me that they can't give away some specs, so writing a
driver for Linux is a quite hard thing. They are also not willing to write an
own driver for Linux/UNIX and as the main reson they put forward there were not
enough requests for doing this. So I just wanted to find some people who are
wishing to support me and if there are enough (perhaps more than 5 or so...) I
am going to start another mailing together with them towards Primax...
Guys who are able to find out something about the protocol by reverse
engeneering the Primax drivers or by grabbing and decoding things on the
parallel line between computer and scanner or whatever they can contribute are
very welcome, of course.

When there are enough people or information I am going to start a WWW-site on
this topic...

Thank you for answering here, or directly to my eMail address.
If you're answering directly to my eMail address, please put the word Primax
somewhere in the Subject, because I use it for sorting my mail and to make my
life little easier.
