The hp backend should support the scanner. But there is no special
support for the ADF. Therefore you have to press the scan button for
each sheet in the feeder.

I have a GT-6500 Parallel and a GT-9500 SCSI working using sane 0.74.

Please send some debug output or other problem description so we can find a
solution for you.
