I'have get a scanner from "Mustek". The type is ScanMagic 9636 S
>From description, it should be a Mustek 6000SP
As next I took an aha 2940 uw controller, because the original controller was a
dtc 3181 and the linux-kernel does not see it.
the aha does see it on LUN 0 ID 6. But anyway, my linux-machine says : no mustek
found - you can see the message above.
I had done a link from /dev/sga to /dev/sg0 and a link to /dev/scanner. Exactly
this is done by the "yast" from SuSE-Linux.
So I´m thinking of about two possibilities :
the aha 2940 is scsi-2 and the scanner should be a scsi-1.
If it is so, how can I do it, that I get a scsi-1 with an aha 2940 ?
Or - I have to take an aha 1540.
In the aha-configuration (from startup-menu of the machine - I will name it boot
ing-phase) I had tried to set the ID 6 "Initiate Wide Negotation" to NO - and so
my "Maximum Sync Transfer Rate is going down to 10 MBytes/sec
I am sorry about, but I could not find anyone, who knows more about scanning and
scsi. The most guys are saying, "oh
yes I know - the price is about 300 DM or more" but nothing is working.
The unless thing, I am sitting in, is, that I do my first installation with a li
nux-based graphic-workstation for my
first customer. - And my time is running and running- nothing is doing about th
e scanning. All other things like printing with hp j890 C is doing. Also my dos-
box to Novell-Connection.
I hope, you could me help in this way. If it possible, it should be as fast as p
ossible - it is very important for me - I hope, you can understand my hacking en
glish and - my situation.
