configure problem solved

I finally got sane 0.73 installed. I have no idea what was wrong before,
but for you configure experts...

I originally did a ./configure and it failed to recongnize my gtk stuff.
I don't recall now if the latest (1.0.2) was installed at the time or
not. However, at some point I did install 1.0.2 gtk, but ./configure
still refused to create a makefile for xscanimage.

Finally, out of total frustration, I deleted my sane-0.73 directory and
unpacked the tarball. Believe it or not, this time ./configure worked
fine. I have no idea...!!!

One other minor problem I had was that I had an older version of gimp
(0.99.18) and the libgimp didn't work with gtk 1.0.2. So, I grabbed the
latest gimp and installed that as well.

Seems like a lot to do to install sane, but it's done and working.

Thanks all for the fine product.
