There was a small bug in the HP backend that could cause this (changes
are small though). To be on the safe side, try commenting out all
backends except the ones you really want to use (mustek, I presume).
Look in /usr/local/etc/saned/dll.conf. The configuration file is
documented in sane-dll(5).
