Hi,

Canon Information Systems was happy to provide me with documentation,
but only under NDA. This isn't a problem for what I'm doing, but would be
for SANE. (I'm writing BeOS scanner drivers for a commercial client.)

Agfa said that they would not release information under any condition.
Then my client said he already had Agfa doc from some previous work on the NeXT.
Go figure.

Apple publishes the Programmer's Guide to Apple Scanners, but the
Apple Scanner I have uses a Canon engine which is not documented, probably
because Apple signed the same NDA. I didn't realize this and tried real hard
to write a driver that partially worked - I could scan, and get data, but
I couldn't make sense of it. The programmer's guide documents the
OneScanner, but I actually have a OneScanner 600/27, which is a Canon engine. D'oh!
