I'm happy to announce that sane-0.69 has finally been released.
Thanks to the long list of SANE contributors, there have been many
improvements including new backends for some Canon, Tamarack/ESCOM,
and Siemens scanners. The UMAX backend now also supports the Linotype
Hell Office scanner. As far as platforms are concerned, SCSI support
has been added for Solaris and AIX.

As usual, you can find everything at http://www.mostang.com/sane/. The
ftp directory is at:

ftp://ftp.mostang.com/pub/sane/

A source RPM and binaries for Red Hat 5.0 on Alpha and x86 are
available in the RPMS subdirectory. If you build this release on
anything other than Linux/{alpha,x86}, please let me know so I can
update the table at http://www.mostang.com/sane/sane-support.html.

Oh, if you're a backend writer/maintainer, please note that there was
a small change to the SANEI_SCSI_Sense_Handler callback type in
include/sane/sanei_scsi.h (a third argument was added). I updated all
backends in this release accordingly, but if you keep your own
sources, you may want to sync up with this change.

Thanks again & keep those patches coming!

Enjoy,
