As I posted some days ago, I found some new docfiles from UMAX
on the german web.site (www.umax.de).

There is nothing special for the Astra 6x0S, but in a file for
the mirage scanner there is (the last page) that tells a bit what
to do, but not everything.

The point seems to be that the driver has to do the calibration
of the scanner.
What I now know is:
- The scanner says driver has to do calibration
- The driver requests shading data
- The driver has to calculate something with the data from the scanner,
but I absolutly don't know what
- The driver sends back some data, but less than it got from the scanner
- Now "normal" scan begins

In the next release of SANE I will have insertet some routines
(read shading data, send shading data) and a test if the
scanner says the driver has to do calibration. After I have
tested this version I will be able to say something more!

I hope the next SANE release will come in the next 2 weeks!

Bye
Oliver
