I just read your description of SANE. Very interesting.

Last year I experimented with the Connectix Color Quickcam and found the
image quality wasn't good enough for biometric face recognition
applications.

Referring to Visionics website: http://www.faceit.com there are a number
of digital cameras listed that do an adequate job. What are the prospects
of SANE supporting any of these cameras?

Right now I am using Red Hat Linux 4.0 (I'm probably a year out of date).
Does SANE end up in Red Hat Linux in the future?

Finally I just noticed that Corel Computer has announced a "Video NC"
with a digital camera running on Linux (see http://www.corelcomputer.com ).
Are they making use of SANE? (My guess is since they are in Ottawa,
maybe they use DIPIX drivers but have not worked with SANE yet)?

Thanks.
