Oops, I spoke too fast: I just rebuilt gtk & xscan and the rulers do
indeed leave behind the marks when updating the dialog. But its
nowhere near a fatal bug since moving the cursor over the garbage bits
will clear them away. Apparently, I never even noticed so far... ;-)
